DEVO. 07.03.26
“But my servant Caleb has a different attitude than the others have. He has remained loyal to me, so I will bring him into the land he explored. His descendants will possess their full share of that land.” (Numbers 14:24 NLT)
- Your faith matters & your attitude matters.
- Moses sent 12 spies into the promised land to explore it.
- 10 of them came back with a bad report. They said, “We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!” (Numbers 13:31)
- With their own words they said , “We even saw giants there… Next to them we felt like grasshoppers, and that’s what they thought, too!” (Numbers 13:33)
- But 2 men, Joshua & Caleb saw something entirely different and gave a different report.
- Caleb said, “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!” (Numbers 13:30)
- Caleb had a very different attitude and Caleb remained loyal to the Lord.
- Being “Loyal to the Lord” means that you are close to Him.
- And when you are close to the Lord, every other problem seems small!
- Gods power and might is so much greater than any obstacle that comes your way!
- When you are close to God your problems become small, but when you are far from God your problems will become magnified!
- The 10 Spies who said that “God couldn’t” and incited a rebellion against the Lord with a bad report, “were struck dead with a plague before the Lord.” (Numbers 14:37)
- It was their own attitude and words that kept them out of the promised land and cost them their life!
- The Lord said, “As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very things I heard you say.” (14:28)
- God gave them what they wanted based on their words!
- That is the power of your words.
- Verse 38 says, “Of the twelve who had explored the land, only Joshua and Caleb remained alive.”
- And only Joshua and Caleb entered the promised land.
- They said how great their God was, not how great the problems were!
- The same is true for you & me.
- Choose to look at your problems in light of the greatness of your God.
- If you say He can’t, then He won’t!
- But if you choose to say, “With God everything is possible...” (Matt. 19:26)
- Then you will walk into all the promises that God has for you!
- Have a great weekend!
