DEVO 07.03.23

DEVO. 07.03.23

“Then Jehoahaz prayed for the Lord’s help, and the Lord heard his prayer, for he could see how severely the king of Aram was oppressing Israel.” (‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭13‬:‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- I love this verse! Not because I love King Jehoahaz, but because you see the heart of our Heavenly Father! - You can see God’s love and mercy! - Jehoahaz was the son of Jehu. - He should have been a good king, but verse 2 says, “But he did what was evil in the Lord’s sight.” - It goes on to say that he did not turn away from sin. - It says that the Lord’s anger burned against Israel because of this. - God allowed King Hazael of Aram to defeat them repeatedly. - ‭‭Finally, Jehoahaz could take it no longer and came to his senses and prayed for the Lords help! - When Jehoahaz prayed, God did not respond by saying, “You are getting what you deserve.” - God did not turn his back on him. - No, it says, “The Lord heard his prayer” - The Lord heard; the Lord provided a deliverer and Israel lived in safety! - All because an evil king humbled himself and called on the Lord for help. - This should be a lesson to all of us. - You are never to far from God, that he will not rescue you! - Even when you’ve done everything wrong, His ears are still listening for your voice! - All we need to do is humble ourselves and call on His name! - He is a good God and He is looking for you to reach out to Him. - Call on His name, today! - Have a great Monday!
