DEVO 06.22.22

“But Peter put them all outside, and knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.”

(Acts‬ ‭9:40‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

- Do you want your prayers to make a difference?

- Do you want to pray prayers that leave a significant impact?

- Prayers that move mountains?

- Then you’ve got to learn to pray bold prayers!

- If you want to pray bold prayers, this is as bold as it gets.

- This lady, Tabitha, was dead.

- Verse 37 says that “she became ill and died, and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.”

- ‭‭She was completely dead, no doubt about it.

- When the disciples heard that she had died, they sent for Peter and brought him to that upper room.

- After he sent everyone out, he knelt down and turned to her dead body and simply prayed a prayer that said “Arise!”

- It wasn’t a long prayer. Actually, just the opposite. It was a short prayer full of faith and power!

- But that one short prayer had a powerful impact!

- It goes on to say that in verse 41-42 that Peter “gave her his hand and raised her up. Then, calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive. And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.”

- ‭‭Many believed!

- So, here’s the question. What dead things do you see around you?

- Dead dreams?

- Dead relationships?

- Spiritually dead people?

- Maybe it’s hope that has died and been crushed by unexpected circumstances and events.

- Or maybe it’s sickness that you have experienced.

- I believe that It’s time to pray bold, life giving prayers.

- Discern what the Spirit of God is saying to you, today, and open your mouth and speak those bold prayers!

- I pray that your prayers become prophetic prayers that cause many to believe.

- It’s time to Arise!

- Have a great Wednesday!
