DEVO. 06.21.24
“Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land.”
(1 Kings 17:7 NIV)
- Sometimes the way that God provides in one season may not be the same way that He provides in the next.
- The key thing for us to know is that God is our Provider!
- Psalm 25:10 says, “The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.”
- The Lord is faithful and full of Love!
- Elijah kept the Lords commands and obeyed the Lord.
- The Lord had told Elijah, in 1 Kings 17:3 to hide in the Kerith Ravine.
- That was where the Lord provided water from the brook and had ravens bring him bread and meat.
- The brook & the Ravens were the provision but they were not the Provider.
- Just like Elijah, our job is to listen to the Lord and obey.
- We go where he tells us to go and do what He tells us to do, but never get used to trusting in the provision more than the Provider.
- God does not change but His method and His provision does.
- Sometimes the brook dries up, just like, sometimes the manna stops.
- What you did in one season may not be what God wants you to do in the next.
- God wants to grow your faith and stretch your faith.
- So when the brook dries up, you know it’s time to lean in once again to your Provider and follow Him, fresh and new, as He leads you to the next place of provision.
- Each step will be an opportunity to grow in your walk!
- Each day, start out with this prayer from Psalm 25:1, “O Lord, I give my life to you. I trust in you, my God!“
- Each day is a new day to trust and follow!
- Stay Humble and hopeful as you trust in Him as your Provider!
- Have a great weekend!
