DEVO 04.26.23

DEVO. 04.26.23
"[Elisha] answered, Fear not; for those with us are more than those with them."
(2 Kings 6:16 AMP)
- I was reminded of this story in the Bible, last night during our Tuesday night teaching.
- In 2 Kings 6, Elisha is being hunted down by the king of Aram.
- v. 14 says, "So one night the king of Aram sent a great army with many chariots and horses to surround the city."
- Elisha is completely outnumbered and surrounded.
- V. 15 says, "When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha.
- Elisha's servants initial reaction was Fear because of what he sees in the natural.
- He has already looked at his situation and determined that it is hopeless.
- But Elisha's response is life changing!
- "Fear not; for those with us are more than those with them."
- FEAR NOT! What you can't see is greater than what you can see.
- "Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire."
- Whoa! That is pretty cool.
- What his servant could not see made all the difference.
- And what you cannot see, today, makes all the difference.
- No matter what fear you may have listed at the beginning of this devotional, you've got to know that you serve an All Powerful God, who is For You!
- No matter how great the adversity is that you are facing, God is Greater!
- No matter how big the problem; God is Bigger!
- God is for you today!
- Romans 8:31 says, "If God is for us, who can ever be against us?"
- Isaiah 54:17 says, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper"
- Today, don't let your problems tell you how big they are; Instead, tell your Problems how Big your God is!
- Ask God to open your eyes, today, to see what He sees!
- Ask Him to make you aware of His provision.
- Look at how He has already gone before you.
- You are more than a Conqueror in Him.
- 2 Tim. 1:7 says, "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control."
- He has already given you a spirit of power, love and a sound mind.
- Let Him fill you with His power today.
- Let His power rule and reign in your life.
- Let His power direct your steps.
- Fear Not!
- Have a great Wednesday!
