DEVO. 04.23.24
“Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.” (John 13:1 NKJV)
- It’s Passover!
- it’s a time when all Jews celebrate their freedom from being slaves to the Egyptians.
- God himself, through His servant Moses, literally stepped in and said, I will free them.
- God had said in Exodus 6:6 “Therefore, say to the people of Israel: ‘I am the Lord. I will free you from your oppression and will rescue you from your slavery in Egypt. I will redeem you with a powerful arm and great acts of judgment. (7) I will claim you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God who has freed you from your oppression in Egypt
- God said, “I will free you!”
- He said, “This is my work that I am going to do.”
- He did it in and through Moses and He was ultimately completing that work through Jesus!
- Jesus knew His purpose, and he Knew His hour had come!
- He knew His purpose! He had no doubt!
- His pupose was that of being the pure, blameless, Passover lamb!
- He laid down, on that cross, to shed his blood for the sin of the world at the same time that the passover lamb was being sacrificed.
- John 3:16 says, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave[g] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (17) God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
- Today, Remember Jesus sacrifice!
- Remember the cost!
- Remember that this story is part of your story when you ask Jesus to forgive you and save you.
- Today, as you celebrate Israel’s freedom, you can also celebrate your freedom!
- It’s a greater freedom by the Greatest Redeemer, Jesus!
- Jesus work is still going on and Jesus is still bringing freedom!
- Today, thank Him and continue to live out your freedom that He purchased for you!
- Your life is a living testimony of Passover!
- Today, you never have to go back into bondage or slavery to sin!
- The debt has been paid!
- Freedom is yours, today and every day!
- Have a great Tuesday!
