DEVO. 04.18.23

"He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd." (Luke 19:3 NLT)

- What would you be willing to do to get a good look at Jesus? - All Zaccheus' wanted was a look... A good look. - But there were obstacles that stood in the way. - He had an unchangeable situation. - He could have made excuses or given up but He didn't. - He decided to do the unusual and get "Above" the obstacles - He climbed a tree. - Once he got above his circumstances, he had an opportunity to see Jesus. - How about you? - What are you obstacles that prevent you from "seeing" Jesus. - Is it past failures? - Is it debt? - Is it an addiction or a habit? - Is it a broken relationship? - Whatever it is, Jesus is saying today - do whatever it takes to "Rise Above" - Do whatever it takes to "See Him" through your circumstances. - Don't let your circumstances prevent you from seeing Him and experiencing His presence. - Once He saw Him, He had the opportunity of Experiencing Him. - Luke 19:5 says, "When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” (Luke 19:5 NLT) - But Zacchaeus still had an opportunity to respond and welcome Him in. - Zacchaeus could have thought, "I'm not worthy enough for Him to come into my home." - He could have thought, "I don't deserve Having Jesus in my home." - He could have said, "No, let me get everything straightened out before you come to my home." - But instead, "Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy."(Luke 19:6) - He welcomed Jesus in! - Jesus showed Zacchaeus anything can be changed. - What he thought was permanent was not permanent at all. - When you get a good look at Jesus despite your circumstances, you end up with so much more. - he discovered acceptance. - He experienced restoration. - He experienced a spiritual healing. - His life was changed! - Just like 2 Cor. 5:17 says, "Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" - Jesus wants nothing more than to come to your house today. - Welcome Him into the center of your life and circumstances, today. - A real encounter with Him changes Everything - Don't let anything stand in your way...Not your past or your present circumstances... - Not even your fear of the future. - Get a Good Look at Jesus today and see what He sees! - He sees a Life Change! - He see a New You! - He sees a beautiful future! - Have a great Tuesday!
