DEVO 04.15.23

DEVO. 04.15.23
"One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done." Luke 17:15
- The story here is of 10 lepers who call out to Jesus as He is passing through their village, “And they raised up their voices and called, Jesus, Master, take pity and have mercy on us!" (Luke 17:13)
- These guys had an incurable skin disease.
- They were outcast.
- Shunned by society.
- They really were at a point of hopelessness.
- And they call out to Jesus.
- He tells them to “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy."
- They were healed!
- Hope was restored!
- They had a new lease on life!
- Their life was changed!
- The tragic part is verse 15, "Then One of them..."
- One chose to thank.
- One chose to remember!
- One chose to recognize that everything he had was from God and he would be nothing without Him.
- verse 16 even says, “This man was a Samaritan.”
- The Jews hated the Samaritans.
- That’s a double negative. Not only, did he have leprosy but he also received the healing that was for the Jews.
- But Jesus honors those who honor Him.
- The double negative is about to be turned into a double blessing.
- Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine?"
- Ouch!
- Please take this opportunity to NOT be like the other 9.
- Thankfulness is an action!
- You have TO DO it!
- No one can do it for you.
- Choose to be the ONE!
- Choose to remember that without Jesus you are nothing.
- In verse 19, (AMP) “Jesus said to him, “Get up and go [on your way]. Your faith [your personal trust in Me and your confidence in God’s power] has restored you to health.””
- His “Health” meant not just physical but spiritual.
- He received “wholeness” because he chose to Thank.
- Choose to appreciate the little things.
- let that heart of Appreciation and Thankfulness give you a new outlook on the day!
- Have a great Weekend!
