DEVO 03.28.24

DEVO. 03.28.24

“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul.“ (‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭10‬:‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- What does God want from you?

- You will see it all throughout His Word and it is repeated in the NT.

- It’s 2 words.

- Your Heart.

- Here in Deuteronomy as Moses reminds the children of Israel of the Lords covenant with them, he says, “Love him and serve him with all your heart and soul.“

- Love Him with everything that is in you!

- Jesus reiterates this in Matthew 22:37, ”Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.“

- ‭‭So if this is most important, the question is, “Are you in love?”

- Not, were you in love in the past?

- Not, are you fond of his teachings.

- Not, do you like to attend church.

- Not, do you serve in ministry?

- But, “Are you in love?”

- It’s an easy question and should only take 2 seconds to answer.

- Are you spending time with Him daily?

- Are you talking with Him regularly?

- Are you walking with Him?

- This is key and foundational but too many times we can get caught up doing the things of God without truly loving Him.

- Does He have your time?

- Does He have your attention?

- Does He have your focus?

- Because, when you are “In Love” with someone, no one has to remind you to spend time with them.

- When you are “In Love”, no one questions who you are “In Love” with.

- You want to serve them and please them.

- You will love what they love and hate what they hate.

- You will be offended at anyone who tries to tear down that love relationship.

- It will bother you when anyone speaks bad about the one you love.

- So, just one question.

- Are you in love?

- Tell someone about it.

- Have a great Thursday.
