DEVO 03.13.24

DEVO. 03.13.24

”But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.” (2 Timothy 3: 1)

- This is the apostle Paul’s last letter

- It was written in 67 A.D.

- He says that there will be terrible times in the last days and look at how accurate it is with this generation.

- Is there any doubt that we are in the last days.

- He says, “People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.“ (2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭5‬)

- He says, “They have a form of godliness but deny it’s power”

- The Amplified says, ”holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith].

- They look good when people can see them but they truly do not rely on the power of the Holy Spirit.

- The way they act is different than what they claim they have.

- Let’s not point fingers at others but let’s all do a self examination and let this be our prayer: ”Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.“ (Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭23‬)

- Have a great Wednesday!
