DEVO 03.13.23

DEVO. 03.13.23

“After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone.” (Matthew‬ ‭14:23‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- Alone.

- Do you like to be alone?

- Most of us try to avoid that word.

- In a world of multiple forms of social media intended to bring people together, it seems like everyone is trying to avoid being alone at all cost.

- Yet, We find Jesus, frequently getting away with the purpose of being alone.

- But being alone for Him had a purpose.

- Even though He was alone , He was never alone.

- Jesus' purpose in "getting away" was to "get with" His Heavenly Father.

- Jesus' life was in such high demand that crowds followed Him wherever He went.

- He was constantly giving out to others.

- He was always ministering to people.

- Constantly pouring into other lives.

- That is why being alone was essential!

- Jesus said, in John 5:19, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does."

- In order to have a clear focus on where He was to go and what He was to do, He had to get alone and get with His Father.

- He had to get away from all distractions.

- If getting alone was important for Jesus, the Son of God, how much more should it be important for us.

- If we are ever going to make a spiritual impact on the world, then we must have regular and frequent times of getting away.

- We have to have times where we silence all other voices and make time to listen to the voice of God.

- If we are ever going to have something to give out, we must First stop and be fill with His Spirit.

- Otherwise we will be filled up with everything else the world has to fill us with but we will have no room for Him.

- If we aren't filled with His presence then we will have nothing Spiritually significant to give out.

- We have to be touched by Him if we are ever going to be of use for Him.

- If we ever intend to make a lasting impact on others we must make time for Him to make an impact on us.

- He will tell you who you are.

- He will show you where to go.

- He will reveal what you are to do.

- He will fill your life with purpose and meaning.

- Today, get away and get alone!

- Get more of Him so that you have something to give out!

- It's essential!

- Have a great Monday!
