DEVO. 01.10.23

“Then God said to Noah, “Leave the boat, all of you—you and your wife, and your sons and their wives.” (Genesis‬ ‭8‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- “Leave”. Many times, that is a difficult word.

- Leaving your comfort zone is never easy, but yet, it is necessary.

- Just like there was a time to get in the boat, for safety and protection, there is also a time to leave.

- The boat was there place of safety and security.

- The boat had protected them for about 1 year.

- The Ark was their home.

- They had so many good stories and memories from their time in the Ark.

- It was designed to protect them from the flood waters but it was not designed for them to stay.

- Can you imagine, if Noah and his family decided to remain in the Ark?

- Those wooden walls of the Ark which had protected them in one season would quickly become restraining in the next season.

- Even though they may have become comfortable in the Ark, it was time to break that comfort and leave.

- There are times in your life where God will protect you and provide for you during a difficult season in your life.

- It may be necessary to stay in order to grow and heal.

- But, don’t get too comfortable.

- God is always in the process of stretching and growing us.

- For many people, change is difficult, but it is necessary!

- Don’t run from change, but embrace it as an opportunity for growth.

- Staying in the Ark was clearly not God’s will for them.

- It wasn’t until they left the Ark that they could expand their families, plant crops and even grow vineyards.

- We are to be thankful for the protection and safety that God provided but not afraid of the expansion and new direction.

- What areas of your life is God telling you, “It’s time to change”?

- What area have you become reluctant or afraid to change?

- God loves you enough to save you but He doesn’t want to leave you the way you were.

- You can’t become who He wants you to be in 2023 if you are afraid to let go of 2022.

- Today, work with God and allow Him to stretch you and change you.

- Work with Him as He molds you and shapes you into the vessel that He created you be!
