DEVO. 01.07.23
“This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God.” (Genesis 6:9 NLT)
- What was it about Noah that made him so different?
- What was it about him that sent him apart?
- It was a time when the world was described as corrupt and evil.
- Genesis 6:11 &12 says, “Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. God observed all this corruption in the world, for everyone on earth was corrupt.”
- Everyone was so evil that God was going to destroy the world with a flood.
- But one guy stood out.
- One man made a huge difference
- And the difference he made came out of his walk
- He is described as walking in close fellowship with God
- That one word, “close”, makes a big difference.
- Those that you walk closest to are the ones that shape and mold you
- You become like them.
- You begin to imitate them.
- “...he walked in close fellowship with God.”
- But that one, little word, “close”, makes all the difference.
- So how would you describe your walk?
- Is it a close walk or is there some distance?
- Today, you are as close to God as you want to be.
- The choice is yours.
- Choose to walk close.
- Choose to spend time in His Word, First!
- Choose to pray and talk with Him, First!
- Choose to look for His activity around you.
- Let your walk change you.
- Let your walk shape you
- Let what He loves become the thing that you love
- Let His desires become your desires!
- And that is how you change the world!
- That one word - CLOSE.
- Out of that closeness, He separated himself from the world and drew himself close to God.
- And out of that closeness, God said, “I’ve got a guy.”
- God has a guy through whom he could save the world!
- Choose today, to be that guy or girl!
- Have a great Weekend!
